Ship Bottom Christmas Parade on LBI
“Here comes Santa Claus, Here comes Santa Claus, right down Long Beach Boulevard!!” That’s right! The holiday season is quickly approaching and there is no better way to kick off the festivities than the 35th Annual Ship Bottom Christmas Parade on LBI! Starting at 5th street and continuing through 25th street, the parade will travel right down the boulevard showing off the many floats, school and community organizations, and anyone else wanting to participate in the celebration. Having believed to have started in 1978, the Ship Bottom Christmas Parade has been an annual tradition for the last 35 years ranging in themes from Christmas Around the World, to this year’s theme, Rockin’ Through the Years.
The parade line-up time is 10:30am for floats and 11:30am for all other participants at the Ethel Jacobsen School (5th Street and Barnegat Avenue, Ship Bottom.) The parade route will proceed past the Judge’s table located at 16th Street and Long Beach Boulevard. Be sure to arrange for transportation from the end of the parade at 25th Street and Central Avenue. The winners of each category as well as the overall winner will be announced at the Borough Hall at 16th Street and Long Beach Boulevard following the parade.
Come out and be a part of a long running tradition spanning 35 years, and ring in the holiday season at the same time! So, bundle up the kids, make a fresh pot of coffee or hot chocolate, and join us on December 6th, 2014 for one of the BEST ways to celebrate “Christmas at the Beach”, the 35th Annual Ship Bottom Christmas Parade on Long Beach Island!
